Note from the Science Department Head at NNHS:
"1) Our Science courses are not necessarily aligned with the SAT II biology and/or chemistry tests. This is because these tests are a mile wide and an inch deep. We, here at NNHS, believe in teaching more depth and thus we don't cover all of the topics tested.
2) If students would like to take a subject test in science, they should register to take the test in June, at the end of the corresponding course. Thus it is important for sophomores and juniors to think about this now.
3) Students who take AP Biology or Honors Chemistry are generally well prepared to take the subject tests in those areas. Some outside preparation will be necessary, even for these students. Though our curriculum I and curriculum II biology and chemistry courses do not cover all of the topics on the SAT II subject tests, if students are willing and able to do significant preparation outside of class, to supplement the topics learned in class, they can do well on the subject tests. Students should buy preparation books, work with a tutor, and/or enroll in one of theprep classes offered through Newton Community Education.
Information about the Newton Community Ed classes...will eventually be available at:

Thanks!!!
